Today marks the release of the long awaited debut EP from Mother City duo Chilled Vibes. While eagerly waiting on this album to drop for last two years I’ve wondered…Will it be killed by it’s own hype? Have I built it up in my dome so much that it is bound to disappoint?

This EP is everything I dreamed it would be and more.

Written and recorded in Cape Town the listener get’s a taste of live in the worlds most beautiful city. It’s diverse people, it’s endless summers, it’s early mornings, it’s late nights and most definitely it’s chilled vibes.

Six years ago I left Cape Town to become a rock-star in London. All in all it’s been amazing. I’ve toured the country, written and released some music I’m proud of and made great friends; but sitting alone in this Starbucks counting the minutes before I hand out flyers in the cold for money makes me wonder….maybe I should head home and live on the beach for the next 50 years. Warning to all you South African’s living abroad: THIS ALBUM WILL MAKE YOU HOMESICK.
